Our Mission
We believe there needs to be a dedicated place where the world’s local businesses and their best customers come together to connect and communicate. At Bizzy, our mission is to be that place: a place free of spam and intrusive marketing messages where customers can stay in touch with the shops, spas and studios they really care about, when and how they want.
Great relationships are one of the main reasons customers love the places they do: owners greet customers by name, make recommendations based on each customer’s individual preferences, and take the time to really listen to what the customer wants. After all, owners know that the success of their business revolves around keeping their customers happy. And just as local businesses want to stay in touch with their best customers, customers want to be first to know about unique offers and events from their favorite shops, without digging for them in over crowded inboxes. Finally, both can do it all on one place, Bizzy!
We built Bizzy because while we love the local businesses we care about most, we don’t love the way we’re marketed to today. Neighborhood shops have our hearts because the attention and dedication we get makes for a better, more personal experience. And because local business owners really want to make us happy, we get the best advice, are directed to just what we’re looking for, and find out about special events or great offers that are right up our alley.
So what’s the problem? This amazing experience only happens when we’re actually in the store. From the moment we leave, we start missing out on all the cool updates, special offers and new products we want to hear about.
That’s because every day we’re bombarded with interruptive marketing messages to the point of irritation. We tune out telemarketing and junk mail, and gloss over mass emails or business posts in our social networks – even from the places we like! Instead of hearing the owner's voice, we get messages written in a generic tone written for a mass audience. So ultimately we end up missing out on all the special offers and fun things happening at the stores we love because we’re simply not in the right mood to listen.
So we had an idea: what if there was a better way to hear from only the businesses we want, when and how we want? How can we take advantage of fantastic deals and advice, but on our terms instead? Could we build something that would make that personal, in-store relationship with our favorite businesses happen whenever we wanted online – and make the whole experience fun for everyone?
That’s why we built Bizzy. We believe there needs to be a separate, unique place to connect and communicate to the local businesses we love in a way that’s welcome, fun, and built just for this kind of relationship. Now we can stay in the loop and stop missing out on the new stuff and special events, and we can talk directly with our favorite business owners whenever we want, wherever we are. After all, we still love our favorite businesses. Bizzy just gives us a way to connect to them like never before.

Everyone in the world is a customer of their favorite businesses – and at Bizzy, we’re no exception. We’ve got marketing fashionistas who love peep-toe sandals and hair treatments, creative designers who dig custom guitars and wine bars, and software engineers who know a good cup of joe. But we’re not just in it for us: we’re passionate about supporting local businesses because we believe they’re the cornerstone to a happy, healthy community with true personality. Founded in early 2009, Bizzy is headquartered in Mountain View, CA and is a fully owned subsidiary of ReachLocal, Inc.
